Most pregnant women are referred for their first routine (or booking or dating) ultrasound scan somewhere between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy.
The purpose of the scan is: to confirm that there is a heartbeat.

Can you tell gender at 12 week ultrasound?

The accuracy of determining your baby's gender increases with how far along you are in the pregnancy.
The accuracy can vary from 70.3% at 11 weeks to 98.7% at 12 weeks, and 100% at 13 weeks.
