The sine rule (or the law of sines) is a relationship between the size of an angle in a triangle and the opposing side.
We can use the sine rule to work out a missing angle or side in a triangle when we have information about an angle and the side opposite it, and another angle and the side opposite it.
What is the Law of Cosines in Algebra 2?
The Law of Cosines states: c2=a2+b2−2ab cosC .
This resembles the Pythagorean Theorem except for the third term and if C is a right angle the third term equals 0 because the cosine of 90° is 0 and we get the Pythagorean Theorem.
What is the answer to the Law of Cosines?
It is also called the cosine rule.
If ABC is a triangle, then as per the statement of cosine law, we have: a2 = b2 + c2 – 2bc cos α, where a,b, and c are the sides of triangle and α is the angle between sides b and c.
What is Law of Cosines Class 12?
In trigonometry, the Cosine Rule says that the square of the length of any side of a given triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the length of the other sides minus twice the product of the other two sides multiplied by the cosine of angle included between them.
