Why aging population can be a problem for developing countries?
An aging population and slower labor force growth affect economies in many ways—the growth of GDP slows, working-age people pay more to support the elderly, and public budgets strain under the burden of the higher total cost of health and retirement programs for old people.
This is what we call the aging of the population.
It occurs for two reasons: fewer people are dying and people are having the number of children they want and no more.
Those two features are indicators of a country's social development.

Japan had the second highest with 29 percent, while Portugal and Bulgaria followed in third with 24 percent.
Why do developed countries have an older population?
The age distributions of the more developed regions continue to be much older than those of the developing world, as a result of differing patterns of fertility behavior, mortality experience, and migration.
