  • What happens if a clustered index is dropped?

Similarly, if a clustered index is dropped on a table that has several nonclustered indexes, the nonclustered indexes are all rebuilt as part of the DROP operation. This process might take significant time on large tables.

  • What is a clustered index?

In a clustered index, the index contains a pointer to block but not direct data. If you apply the primary key to any column, then automatically it will become a clustered index. In this example, Roll no is a primary key, it will automatically act as a clustered index. The output of this code will produce in increasing order of roll no.

  • What is a clustering index (EMP)?

EMP) A clustering index determines how rows are physically ordered (clustered) in a table space. Clustering indexes provide significant performance advantages in some operations, particularly those that involve many records.

  • Can a non clustered relation have a clustering index?

To connect two concepts together, a clustered relation can have a clustering index and nonclustering index. However, for non-clustered relation, clustering index is not possible unless the index is built on top of the primary key of the relation.
