chi square matrix calculator
Pearson's chi-squared test is used to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference between the expected frequencies and the observed frequencies in one or more categories of a contingency table.
For contingency tables with smaller sample sizes, a Fisher's exact test is used instead.
How can I calculate chi-square?
To calculate chi square, we take the square of the difference between the observed (o) and expected (e) values and divide it by the expected value.
Depending on the number of categories of data, we may end up with two or more values.
Chi square is the sum of those values.
Can you do a 3x3 chi-square test?
2x2 grids like this one are often the basic example for the Chi-square test, but in actuality any size grid would work as well: 3x3, 4x2, etc.
What is a 2x2 chi-square analysis?
The 2 X 2 contingency chi-square is used for the comparison of two groups with a dichotomous dependent variable.
We might compare males and females on a yes/no response scale, for instance.
The contingency chi-square is based on the same principles as the simple chi-square analysis in which we examine the expected vs.
