What is the standard for climate risk assessment?
The ESCI climate risk assessment framework follows the International Standard ISO 31000 for Risk Management, starting with understanding the context, then identifying and analysing the climate risk, prioritising risks, and then determining how to mitigate the key risks.
What is the risk of climate change?
Climate change is the single biggest health threat facing humanity.
Climate impacts are already harming health, through air pollution, disease, extreme weather events, forced displacement, pressures on mental health, and increased hunger and poor nutrition in places where people cannot grow or find sufficient food.The EUCRA assesses current and future climate change impacts and risks relating to the environment, economy and wider society in Europe.
The first EUCRA is a fast-tracked and expert-driven assessment primarily based on a review and synthesis of existing data and knowledge from various sources.
