Who investigated Concorde crash?
The official investigation has focused almost entirely on the fire.
According to the French accident investigation bureau, the BEA, it broke out when the plane passed over a strip of metal on the runway.
A tyre burst; a chunk of rubber thudded into a fuel tank inside the wing; jet fuel poured out of a hole and ignited. The flight team then apparently decided to make an attempt to gain speed in order to try an emergency landing at Le Bourget airport.
The aircraft reportedly tried to gain speed for an emergency landing before the captain was heard saying his final words.
Marty was heard saying: "Too late no time."
What caused Concorde plane crash?
All about the crash.
As the aircraft took off, it ran over a piece of debris on the runway.
This debris, later identified as a titanium strip fallen from a previous flight, punctured one of the Concorde's tires.
The tire blowout caused fragments to be thrown into the underside of the wing, damaging a fuel tank.
What is the real story behind Concorde crash?
When the tires exploded a piece hit the underside of the aircraft, which ruptured one of the fuel cells slightly ahead of the intakes to the engines 1 and 2.
The fuel, which ignited, choked out the two engines on the left side, and the Concorde crashed into a hotel in Gonesse, France just 5 km from the runway.
