What is a component scan in Spring?
@ComponentScan is an annotation used in the Spring Framework for auto-detecting and registering Spring-managed components (e.g. beans, controllers, services, repositories, etc.) within a specified package or set of packages.18 fév. 2023
@Component is an annotation that allows Spring to detect our custom beans automatically.
In other words, without having to write any explicit code, Spring will: Scan our application for classes annotated with @Component.
Instantiate them and inject any specified dependencies into them.
What is the difference between @component and @ComponentScan?
@Component and @ComponentScan are for different purposes. @Component indicates that a class might be a candidate for creating a bean.
It's like putting a hand up. @ComponentScan is searching packages for Components.
What is the difference between @import and @ComponentScan?
We also learned that @Import is very similar to @ComponentScan, except for the fact that @Import has an explicit approach while @ComponentScan uses an implicit one.
Also, we looked at possible difficulties controlling our configurations in real applications and how to deal with these by combining both annotations.
