compressed air energy storage working
What is the working principle of compressed air?
The working principle of dynamic air compression is that air is drawn between blades on a rapidly rotating impeller and the air is accelerated to a high velocity.
The air is then discharged through a diffuser, where it is transformed into a static pressure. The air is pumped into one of the compressed air storage tanks when the tanks fill with water and its pressure rises.
After that, electricity is produced by forcing water into a hydropower turbine using compressed air.
How is compressed air used as a source of energy?
With compressed air energy, the electricity produced by other power sources, such as wind turbines, is converted into highly pressurized compressed air and stored for later use.
When the energy is needed, this compressed air is then released into turbine generators so it can be used as electricity again.4 sept. 2020
How does compressed air do work?
As gases, these molecules naturally space themselves out, filling up the volume available in free space.
When we compress air, we force those molecules closer together.
The same molecules are in the air but occupy less space (volume) than when the molecules are free.
