Does NASA use ROS?
Space ROS is an open-source spacecraft flight software framework for developing robotic applications for space being developed by NASA, Open Robotics, Blue Origin, and others.
It is designed to be platform independent, portable and project independent.In our experience, research in robotics at the moment *and* deployment in many real-life systems is highly centered around ROS.
This is not to say that one must use ROS for doing robotics.
But it is definately a very viable choice There is a massive community around and this is not by chance.
What language is ROS robotics?
The main languages for writing ROS code are C++ and Python, C++ being preferred due to better performance.
Is ROS good for robotics?
With the ROS framework, newbies can easily reuse code and develop robot applications.
Users can also quickly transfer this code to other robots, allowing them to experiment.
