How many countries are members of the International Organization for Migration (IOM)?
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) currently counts 175 member states. A further 8 states hold observer status, as do numerous international and nongovernmental organizations. Below you can find more details about the different members.
What is the role of the IOM?
As an intergovernmental organization, IOM acts with its partners in the international community to: assist in the meeting of operational challenges of migration; advance understanding of migration issues; encourage social and economic development through migration; and uphold the human dignity and well-being of migrants.
What is IOM's Migration Research series?
In 2017, IOM released its biennial flagship publication, the World Migration Report 201865In 2018, the Organization also revitalized . its Migration Research Series, which publishes policy-relevant research and analysis on diverse and complex migration issues.
What publications does the IOM produce?
IOM produces a large variety of publications in the field of migration policy and research, most of which can be downloaded free of charge from the IOM Online Bookstore.
