    The multiple-feedback (MFB) low-pass filter (LP filter) is a second-order active filter. Vref provides a DC offset to accommodate for single-supply applications. This LP filter inverts the signal (Gain = –1V/V) for frequencies in the pass band.

    Setting the LPF for 50 Hz is the best complementary setting. This setting means all of the frequencies below 50 Hz are sent to the subwoofer, and frequencies at 100 Hz (one octave above) are fully attenuated. At one half octave above (75 Hz) the attenuation is approximately -12 dB.
  • The multiple-feedback band-pass filter circuit diagram is shown below. The above multiple feedback band-pass filter circuit has two feedback, the path from output via R2 back to input and the path from output via C1 back to the input. That is why it is referred as multiple-feedback.
