    P7zip is the command line version of 7-Zip for Linux / Unix, made by an independent developer. 01 (alpha) which was released just a few days ago. The command line tool is even more powerful and can be used to find files within archives. The command to run the program is the following: $ 7z. gz file in Linux.

    First you need to download the 7-Zip command line executable, 7za.exe. This is the exe you will use to run commands on archives. Please go to 7-zip.org and get the command line version. Tip: For convenience and so you don't need to change environment paths, put the 7za.exe file in your user directory.
