What is child labour in Bangladesh?
The definitions used in Bangladesh’s National Child Labour Survey come from the Labour Act 2006 (amended 2013). The Labour Act prohibits employment for ‘children’ – below the age of 14 – and prohibits hazardous work (i.e. participating in activities/sectors designated as hazardous) for ‘adolescents’, defined as under the age of 18.
