The Story Of Johnny Appleseed (1963) written and illustrated by Aliki is a picture book that tells the tale of John Chapman. It is a simplified version, and I do question it’s historical accuracy; for example, the telling of his “friendship” with the animals and playing with bear cubs as their mother looked on.
