Practical Arithmetic Coding Scaling: By scaling we can keep L and R in a reasonable range of values so that W = R - L does not underflow The code can be produced progressively not at the end Complicates decoding some Integer arithmetic coding avoids floating point altogether
This method consists in: 1 Expressing the number ( N )b1 as a polynomial with base- b2numbers used in the polynomial 2 Evaluating the polynomial base- b2arithmetic being used This polynomial method is most often used by human beings whenever a number is to be converted to base 10 since it is then possible to use decimal arithmetic
For a set number of iterations you could use either “while” or “for” forloops are short and simple but only work when you’re trying to increment by an even amount You can make them increment by numbers other than 1 using for n in 1:0 1:20 for example whileloops are a little longer but will work

Is code a coding word?
Dey (1999) critically posits that “With categories we impute meanings, with coding we compute them” (p. 95). To some, code is a “dirty four-letter word.” A few research methodologists perceive a code as mere shorthand or an abbreviation for the more important category yet to be discovered.
What is data coding?
Coffey and Atkinson (1996) propose that “coding is usually a mixture of data [summation] and data complication … breaking the data apart in analytically relevant ways in order to lead toward further questions about the data” (pp. 29–31).
Is coding a fixed representation?
Coding “is organic in which coding, codes and data shape each other; they are interdependent and inseparable” (p. 6). Once a code is applied to a datum during first cycle analysis, it is not a fixed representation but a dynamic and malleable process “through which to consider and interact with further observations and ideas” (p. 6).
Why is coding important?
Coding enables you to organize and group similarly coded data into categories or “families” because they share some characteristic – the beginning of a pattern (see the examples of Pattern Coding and Focused Coding in Chapter 5).
