When you mute yourself on Zoom can the host still hear you

Snopes fact-checked this myth and reported that if you are muted (indicated by a red line through your microphone icon), the host, co-host, and other participants cannot hear your audio. If you mute yourself, the only way a host or co-host can unmute you is if you have given prior permission for them to do so.

What happens when you mute yourself on Zoom?

The Mute icon will change into a crossed-out microphone and the text will now say Unmute. Your microphone is now turned off and no one on the call can hear you.

Can people hear you when your mic is muted?

Once your mic is on mute NOBODY can hear you, so don't worry you can say whatever! Anyways, you can test it - turn it on and say Miss / Sir I have a question, then turn your mic off to ask the question - if they answer (which they won't if the mics off!)
