  • What is the CLIL methodology of teaching?

CLIL stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning and as the term suggests, this approach is used to teach students about a new subject in a language foreign to them.
Through CLIL, students not only learn a second language but also learn about a topic totally new to them, for example drawing or climate change.17 jui. 2021

  • What are the 4 elements of CLIL?

The 4Cs of CLIL phrase Content, communication, cognition and culture (Coyle, 1999).
These are interrelated components of CLIL and make up the 4Cs Framework.
Culture is also linked to citizenship and community.
Theory noun A set of ideas which explains something, e.g. a mathematical or scientific theory.

  • What are the 4 principles of CLIL?

Coyle et al. (2010) suggest that these multiple outcomes of CLIL should target 4Cs: content, communication, cognition, and culture.
Content addresses the knowledge students should gain from a lesson, and communication could be connected to language outcomes.

  • In CLIL we should provide opportunities to use and develop the 4 language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.
Most, though not all, individual lessons will contain these four elements.
CLIL stands for Content and Language Integrated Learning and it has officially been around since the 1990s. It is an educational approach that originally stems from Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and has been used mostly by language teachers. The concept is often credited to David Marsh.
