The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 1.3 per cent in the December 2021 quarter and 3.5 per cent annually, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
CPI inflation was 5.4% in December 2021 (Index: 115.1), up from 5.1% in the year to November 2021.
RPI inflation was 7.5% in December 2021 (Index: 317.7), up from 7.1% in the year to November 2021.
The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased 7.0 percent over the last 12 months to an index level of 278.802 (1982-84=100).
For the month, the index increased 0.3 percent prior to seasonal adjustment.12 jan. 2022
