decoding (putting sounds to the letters/symbols) and complete the year with the ability to blend letters and

vowels together to decode (and sing) 2-3 of our basic prayers. Hebrew is required for all students in 3rd 6th grade.

Main Goal:

Our number one goal in our Hebrew program is to create positive associations with the Hebrew language as the Hebrew learning experience is deeply tied into the creation of Jewish identity.

Option 1: Midweek Hebrew

Online option / offered Tues, Wed or Thurs / 4:30pm 6pm OR In-person option / Wednesday at our Bellevue campus only / 4:30pm 6pm

(*We require a minimum of twenty 3rd ʹ 6th grade learners to register for each day in order to facilitate a class on that

particular day)

Details:

This 1.5 hr program will offer the following opportunities for learning/connection through a mixture of tfillah

(20 min), community building time, individual teacher check-ins and all-class Hebrew games and activities.

Online classes will require a minimum of 5 students.

This program offers:

Weekly tfillah- one of the most important ways to gain prayer leading skills and hear the sounds of

prayer that they will need to use to lead in the future Specialists (Hebrew through Movement) and Hebrew learning support Jewish Life Vocabulary infused into tfillah and classroom activities Small class sizes Weekly practice activities will be provided and these are recommended for consistent progress and success

Option 2:

OJL (Online Jewish Learning) is an online Hebrew learning program offered to 4th - 6th graders who cannot attend any of our Hebrew programmatic offerings. This program is offered in small cohorts and comes with an additional fee.

This program comes with an additional fee.

Choose times that fit into your schedule in a more flexible way (based on a survey of your preferences)

Classes are taught by teachers who are studying to become rabbis and cantors across the country. This

program is part of a partnership we have with Online Jewish Learning. Small group learning cohorts of 3-5 students 30-minute sessions intensive focus
Potential for advanced track Tefillah requirement & reflection own schedule (Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, other synagogues) Groups assigned by grade, date/time availability, and level of ability Weekly practice required in addition to online class

Private Tutoring

Private tutoring is an option after approval by Hebrew Coordinator or Director of Education. Private tutoring is

for students with extenuating circumstances and/or those who have significant learning needs that require

individual attention.
