Supporting healthy campuses
As a student-centric university, the primary goal beyond the teaching and learning mission of ASU is the health and wellbeing of all students, scholars and staff that make up our vibrant academic community. And, as the most innovative university in the U.S., ASU sees it as our responsibility to drive solutions that address the challenges facing the world. A recent example is how ASU adapted to COVID-19 and was a statewide leader in response to the pandemic. Since March
2020, ASU continued teaching and learning uninterrupted for
students around the globe through the delivery of online classes taught live through ASU Sync technologies. Additionally, ASU researchers developed a saliva-based COVID-19 test that was available free of charge for all students, faculty and staff, and used at testing locations throughout the state of Arizona.

What is a pathway program?
An academic pathway program prepares you for full admission to an ASU degree. It is designed to raise your English level and academic grades, and build degree-level study skills, while you start to earn undergraduate credit on campus.
What is conditional admission?
If you meet academic criteria for a bachelor's degree but do not currently meet the English requirements, ASU may offer conditional admission. This gives you time to improve your English level before starting a degree at ASU. Your conditional admission offer is valid for up to 3 semesters, during which time you can join ASU's English Language Program or submit a qualifying English test score.
What is transfer admission?
You can transfer into Year 2 or 3 of a bachelor's degree if you have already studied at another university or college. Your existing undergraduate credit is evaluated for acceptance by ASU: you'll nd out how many credits will transfer with your offer of admission. When you complete your degree, it is awarded by ASU.
What is an exploratory program?
If you are "undecided" about what major you want to study, you can start in an exploratory track and learn more about your options within an academic eld, without losing time or credit.
What is admission with deciencies?
If you meet all the criteria for graduate admission but would benet from improving your speaking skills (or your preferred master's has an English score requirement of TOEFL 90+), ASU may offer you admission with deciencies. You must complete ASU's English Language Program at Advanced 2 before starting your master's.
Why apply with Kaplan?
Through our streamlined form with no application fee, we can help you apply to ASU's programs and degrees. Our education advisors are experts in the university's admission process and will provide valuable guidance and local support during your application.

Degree requires a GMAT or GRE score for a complete application. Degree requires a higher GPA and/or higher
English level (equivalent of TOEFL 90 or 100).
Graduates of these programs are eligible for a
24-month STEM extension to Optional Practical
Training after graduation.
A two-year program is for applicants who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree in the same discipline as the graduate program. A 3+ program is for applicants with an undergraduate degree in a discipline different than the graduate program. Indicates an accelerated 4+1 degree program.
ASU offers a streamlined path to a master's
degree from ASU undergraduate programs, reducing the time it takes to get a master's degree from two years to one year.

English Language Program
(campus or online immersion) In this fully immersive program, you will improve your English prociency and boost your academic performance and American cultural competency in a full-time, active learning setting.
When you complete the ELP, you can transfer
into all ASU undergraduate programs and most
ASU graduate programs without a TOEFL score.
ASU-USA Pathways
This program is for rst-year international
undergraduate students who want to ease into the American university experience and begin their for-credit degree study while receiving additional language and cultural support. See details on pages 26-27.Where: on-campus (Tempe) or online immersion Intakes: 5 per year (January, March, May, August, October)
Program content:
21 hours of class time (3 courses) per week.
Online Immersion students have 10 hours of synchronous sessions; the remaining hours are asynchronous. You will master reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the university level and participate in cultural immersion and social activities designed to enhance learning. Campus Immersion students in Basic and Intermediate levels also take a course in communications; those in Advanced levels take a specialization course in business, humanities or STEM. Key facts for students with conditional admission
Level:
Undergraduate and LLM students take a language test on arrival and are placed in 6 ELP levels: Advanced 1, Advanced
2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, Basic 1 or Basic 2.
Please note:
ELP levels do not equate with TOEFL ranges. The ELP placement test may have a different result than the standardized TOEFL test because the placement test requires a broader understanding of how English functions, and assesses
English on a more nely detailed level.
Duration: 8 weeks per level, up to 1 year total
Entry requirements:
qualify academically for a bachelor's degree,
LLM or pathway program (see pages 30-31).
Progression:
• T o a bachelor's degree - on completion of ELP Advanced
Level 2 with a B- (80%) or higher.
T o ASU-USA Pathways program - on completion of ELP Intermediate Level 2 with a B (84%) or higher, OR completion of Advanced 1 Level with a C (70%) or higher. T o LLM degree - program cumulative GPA of at least 3.33, with no courses graded below a B.
Key facts for students admitted with deciencies
Level: Graduate students take ELP Advanced 2
Duration: 8 weeks
Entry requirements:
• "admitted with deficiencies" to an A
SU master's degree (not
available for Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, W. P. Carey School of Business or Walter Cronkite School of Journalism). E LP may be required to improve your speaking skills or if your chosen master's program has a TOEFL 90+ requirement. minimum T
