MID-YEAR ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT 2022

The Department has completed a total of US$ 12M

for the first half of this year which is equivalent to

PHP 683M worth of Countertrade projects such as

Donation (25%), Exports (16%), Trainings (7%) and Bank Credits (52%). With that being said, the department has done more than US$ 870M or PHP

48B worth of performances since 1993.

The Department has finalized a total of six (6) New

Countertrade Agreements valued at PHP 853M

worth of contracts.

The Department together with PITC President

& CEO, USec. Emmie Liza Perez-Chiong, and

Vice President for International Trading

Services Group, Atty. Mark Brian A. Dela Cruz

conducted a Countertrade briefing last 09 June

2022 at the DND ٫

Quezon City.

USec. Chiong, led the briefing and discussion of

the Countertrade and Offset Program. She emphasized the advantages of implementing the program in DND-AFPټɀ ȵȸȒƬɖȸƺȅƺȇɎِ Moreover, she expects full utilization of the

Countertrade Program which will greatly

benefit the DND.

The DND-AFPSEO appreciated the efforts and

the time that the PITC gave in conducting the briefing, for them to be familiarized of the program and how they will be able to incorporate it in their projects most especially for the AFP Modernization Projects.

The Department processed two (2) new

Countertrade Agreements with MKU

Limited. The total value of the Countertrade

obligations for these agreements is PHP

355M. This is relative to the following

procurements: Supply and Delivery of thirteen thousand three hundred sixty-seven (13,367) pieces integrated armor vest system for the Philippine Army (PA). Supply and Delivery of three hundred five (305) units Brand New Enhanced

Autogated Night Vision Device

(Monocular) for the Philippine

National Police (PNP).

Memorandum of

agreement (MOA) with department of national defense (dnd)

The Department spearheaded by ټ

President & CEO, Usec. Emmie Liza Perez-

Chiong was able to finalize and signed a

Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)

between DND and PITC on the integration of the Countertrade and Offset Program in all

DND Procurements and AFP Modernization

Projects last 30 June 2022. This MOA will not

only strengthen close ties between the two (2) government agencies but will also bring

DND additional benefits through offset

activities, without expense on the government, by virtue of their purchase/procurement of imported goods, equipment, machineries, or services.

Moreover, the MOA will serve as a basis that

DND is mandated to adopt the program in

their procurement projects.
