SCIENTIFIC PROJECT

Gas hydrate exploration at University of Tromso, Norway with funding from StatOil Under Prof Stefan Buenz on Gas Hydrate Exploration around Norwegian- Barents Svalbard Margin using 3D seismic data. I did virtual internship course of Petrel software , and tried to find particular attributes which can help us in detecting Gas hydrates. 21 Days,(P Cable) High Resolution 3-D Seismic Acquisition cruise around the Svalbard region was part of this. Tracking NEAs and Hazard Mitigation at Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. This was a group project, done under Prof Asok K Sen during Nov 2011-Jan 2012 and results were presented at PLANEX workshop organized by ISRO and PRL, Ahmedabad, where we had to track NEAs and suggest hazard Mitigation methods .I am the only undergraduate student selected for this PLANEX workshop. Summer Internship at Australian International Gravitational Research Centre, University of Western Australia, Australia from May to July 2011. This project titled as ͞NonContact Method of Finding Out The Violin Mode Frequency on a LIGO,Australia Suspension" Under the Guidance of Prof Li Ju and Prof Chunnong Zhao. In AIGO ground based interferometric gravitational wave detectors; each test mass/mirror is suspended in vacuum from isolation system with help of 4 niobium ribbons. My project was to develop a method to measure and equalise the tension in these ribbon. NASA Radio Jove. This Radio Jove kit was awarded to me and we use it to observe Jupiter and Sun. We are trying to correlate if these have any effect on our climate, with the help of data from other sources. This project runs under the Science Club of our institute and since 2011.This is also a part of public outreach, where students from school come to visit. Polarization Modulation of EM waves This project, under guidance of Dr Joydeep Bagchi of Inter University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune has been going on since Dec 2010 and about to be published. We are trying to see how polarization modulation works in radio frequency and already tested this optical band. We use computation modeling to see effect of noise on this. Small Radio Telescope for observing Sun and Moon This project was done under the guidance of Prof Joydeeep Bagchi of Inter University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, Pune during June-Aug,2010. In this I designed a telescope which can be made by locally available components so that it can be made by school and colleges for small experiments. This was for a part of science popularization program of IUCAA and NCRA, Tata Institute of

Fundamental Research.

I have done many other projects(In Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics) as a part of our course work at

IISER, where we have to do a project in all the Lab courses and also a few under the Science club. But these

projects are small and done in groups of 2-3 students.

This is school organized for undergraduate and master students, and I was participant for this in 2009 and from 2010 I have been going there as a resource person. I͛m the only undergraduate student who was inǀited as a resource person, where all other resource person are at least Post-Doctoral Fellows.
