How do I get around Portland on a bike?

If you prefer cycling on low-traffic streets over bike lanes on busier streets, check out the Citywide or Neighborhood Bike and Walk maps and plan your route using bike facilities marked in green. All TriMet buses, MAX light rail trains, the Portland Streetcar and Aerial Tram carry bikes. See the Bikes and Transit section for information.

What is the North Portland Bike Ride Like?

This 8-mile North Portland ride offers a little bit of everything. Discover Neighborhood Greenways of Albina and Arbor Lodge, the Bryant St bike and pedestrian bridge, enjoy views of the river from Willamette Blvd, and squeal with joy as you ride downhill on the new protected bike lanes on lower Greeley.

Can cyclists ride side-by-side in Portland?

Bicyclists may also ride side-by-side when they don’t impede the normal movement of traffic. Cyclists must yield to all pedestrians on sidewalks and those marked or unmarked crosswalks. Give a warning with a bell or your voice before overtaking pedestrians from behind. Riding on sidewalks in Portland’s downtown core is prohibited.

Does Portland have a Bike Share Fleet?

All TriMet buses, MAX light rail trains, the Portland Streetcar and Aerial Tram carry bikes. See the Bikes and Transit section for information. BIKETOWN - Extend your trip with Portland's electric bike share fleet.

If you get on at an unstaffed station*, take your bike to the baggage car and an onboard staff member will assist you. 3.

BOX YOUR BIKE

sold out. If that's the case, you can opt to box your bike (except at unstaffed stations)* for an additional $15/box plus a $10 handling fee.

You're responsible for disassembling

and reassembling your bike for shipping in a box. Remember to bring the necessary tools along, since they are not available at stations. Your pedals must be removed, handlebars turned sideways and the seat lowered. Boxes are not available at unstaffed stations.* 4.

FOLDING, RECUMBENT, AND

TANDEM BIKES
