What is Epic Systems known for?

Epic is also known for a supreme court case (Epic systems v.s. Lewis) in which they fought for - and s?ded - in taking away workers' rights when it comes to class action lawsuits. I never got the feeling like management was on my side. Fine for a first job out of college mostly because of the pay and the company being well respected.

What does a technical solutions engineer do?

A technical solutions engineer, which is also called a technical support engineer or systems administrator, helps customers resolve issues they may have with their software, network or other technological products.

What's wrong with Epic?

High turnover. Epic intentionally understaffs. They seem to have a very 'churn and burn' approach to hiring. Burnout and poor employee mental health. My therapists have said that Epic has a reputation for this in the area. Inexperienced management.

What are the benefits of being an epic employee?

You work closely with healthcare providers and get to see almost firsthand how your work can impact patient care. A lot of benefits, like great health insurance and good, cheap food on campus. You also get a ton of discounts in the area just for being an Epic employee, like gym memberships and the like. A great place to learn skills.
