Tiddalick the Frog Ȃ retold By Miss Marjorie.
Long time ago in the dream time there was a greedy frog called Tiddalick and he wanted to be the biggest frog in the land. One very hot day Tiddalick was very thirsty so he
began to drink and drink and drink until he drank the whole billabong and it dried up.When all the other animals came to the billabong
there was no water. The animals were very angry with him. If the animals were to get all the water out of Tiddalick and back into the billabong they would have to make Tiddalick laugh. The echidna tried to make him laugh by rolling down the hill. Tiddalick did not laugh. Kookaburra was perched high in the gum tree and he pretended to fall out of the tree but still Tiddalick did not laugh. Wombat started dancing and again Tiddalick did not laugh. The animals did not know what to do and they were still thirsty. Eel was in the mud at the bottom of the billabong and when he was dancing he tied himself in a big knot and Tiddalick saw him and began to giggle. The more eel move the more Tiddalick laughed. He laughed so hard that the water started to trickle out. Then Tiddalick shook with laughter and all the water ran out and back into the billabong. From that day on Tiddalick was never greedy and he only drank what he needed.quotesdbs_dbs6.pdfusesText_11[PDF] tier 1
