How to search for an Apprenticeship.

A good place to start your search is on the government apprenticeship vacancy website https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship . This is a national website that gives you the opportunity to search locally and across the country.

Some companies only adǀertise ǀacancies on their own websites so it's a good idea to research them for

opportunities directly. Other websites that advertise apprenticeship vacancies include: careerfinder.ucas.com/jobs/apprenticeship/ - search for degree and higher apprenticeships https://www.getmyfirstjob.co.uk/ https://www.notgoingtouni.co.uk/ indeed.co.uk totaljobs.com

It is also a good idea to register with LinkedIn and follow any companies you are interested in working for -

more and more companies now use LinkedIn to advertise vacancies. Vacancies are also advertised on

Twitter/Facebook etc.

Colleges and Universities (degree level) often advertise apprenticeship vacancies so there may be links to

vacancies or employers they work with. The same applies to other relevant training providers.

Attend careers/apprenticeship events as they can give you the opportunity to meet employers and find out

about their apprenticeship programmes.

Start trying to look for vacancies early, especially with highly competitive employers and those at degree

level. Some opportunities could be advertised as early as late summer of Year 12 or in the autumn of Year

13. The start dates for these vacancies can be the following September but the application/interview

process for these competitive opportunities starts early. Prospects offers advice on apprenticeship opportunities and information on companies offering apprenticeships.
