Guidelines for Practicals

1. Minimum 60% of the Practical/ Experiments to be covered from each Semester ( In

reference to this syllabus Minimum 6 Experiments out of 10 per Semester)

2. The following virtual/online mode of Practical teaching may be adopted depending on the

availability of the resources: i) Experiment based Write up ( Similar to Journal sheets) including Title, Aim, Concept, Significance of the experiment, Apparatus, Circuit Diagram( Block diagram, Flow chart, State diagram etc), Experiment Set-up, Observations, Results and Conclusions should be shared to the students in softcopy form. ii) Explain the experiment theoretically using Power point presentation step by step. iii) Teacher will initially demonstrate the use of the Circuit Simulator .( CircuitMod, Pspice or any other which is available Open source/free online) iv) Student will perform the experiment through the simulator and report the results to the teachers.

3. If it is not possible to conduct the experiment through the Circuit simulators then

Teachers can demonstrate the Experiment through Power point presentations supported by necessary Audio-Video clips and share the resources such as Website links, YouTube

Links for the same.

4. Readily available online modules of the experiments from any other resource may be

used and made available to the students for better understanding of the experiments.

5. After explaining the experiment , a question /answer session should be conducted by the

respective teacher.

6. Teacher should keep an open slot in their timetable, for queries of the students, regarding

the experiment.

7. Students should submit the softcopy of the practical sheets as above and covering the

points : Parameter values, Calculations, observations, Graphical analysis ,result and conclusion as required for the experiment. Evaluation / Examination( Internal/ External) of the Practical

Lab Course

1. Evaluation of the student to be taken up 100% online or through Virtual mode, in the

form of Viva or oral, by turning on the video of the student.

2. Initially a Multiple Choice Question ( MCQ) based examination be designed and

conducted for 15 marks based on the experiments performed during the term.

3. During the online examination session, ask the student number of experiments he/she

has understood . The student be asked to draw circuit / Block/ Flow Diagram and explain the procedure, observations of the experiment, followed by Oral related to basic concepts.

4. Teacher should expect the students to explain theoretical aspects of the experiment as

per their Practical write-ups mentioned above.

5. After explaining the full experiment, then ask him/her few conceptual questions based

on the experiment.

6. Finally give the marks ( Internal/External) as prescribed by the University

Examination rules.
