The Image Volume - ijserorg
The volume of an image can be defined by using the concept of vectors Using this volume of an image a novel mathematical model has been developed for the first time And this research the mathematical principles are used in very useful way Research propose a new concept to find a volume of an image by using vector algebra

When a DICOM image series is read as a singleimage volume the resulting image's meta-data dictionary is not populated since DICOM tags are speci?c to each of the ?lesin the series If you use the procedural method for reading the series then you do not have access to the set of meta-datadictionaries associated with each of the ?les

The Goal • Given a volume (3D Image) render a 2D image as output The process is called “Volume Rendering”
How many images are needed to estimate the volume of an object?
- Present methods to estimate the volume of an object with the help of images such as the one involving Monte Carlo method require minimum five images, whereas the idea proposed by us requires 2-3 images depending on the type of the object.
Is the top view of an object enough for volume estimation?
- Even though the side views of the object would be enough for volume estimation up to some extent, the top view would be important for the object recognition as well as for checking for any cavities in the object from the top side (e.g. apple).
How do I calculate pixel size in ImageJ?
- Open the image in ImageJ Go to Image > Properties… Set “Unit of length” to um (micron; for most microscopes) or mm (for the Macroscope) Read the pixel size from the “Pixel height” or “Pixel depth” boxes (they should be identical). This is the pixel size in units of microns/pixel (or mm/pixel if you set that).

Single Multi Frame DICOM File:
The recommended option - this will export the 3D image volume as one DICOM file. When choosing this option, it is advisable to check the Export Viewer with Multiframe image box so a DICOM viewer program will be exported to the same directory as the patient's volume file. If there is burning hardware on the computer, choose the Burn Viewer with Multiframe on CD option to put a viewer and patient volume onto a CD. Set of Single Frame DICOM Files: This will export the 3D image volume as 512 single files where each represents one axial slice. "Resolution" The resolution to be used when exporting the 3D image volume can be selected from a drop-down menu which lists available voxel resolutions; if you do change the resolution, use the highest resolution your viewer software can handle. For example, some surgical planning softwares can only handle resolutions between 0.30mm and0.50mm.
NOTE: This option is grayed out [not available] if the OriginalOrientation
box is checked. The Bit Depth can be changed to set the appropriate bit size which will allow the volume to be viewed in another imaging software. Checking the Original Orientation box exports the 3D image volume in the same orientation in which the image was captured and displayed. Select the location of where the f iles will be exported. It is best to create a new folder so all the files including the DICOM viewer is conveniently located in one place.Name the 3D image volume with
the patient's name so it can be easily identified, then click onOK. "Folder"

Checking the Include Nerve and Implants box exports the 3D image volume with any nerve or implants that have been marked/placed in the image. The Ex port Cropped box exports the 3D image volume exactly as it had been cropped to on the screen. For example if the ROI was only the third molar it will only export the third molar. Checking the Anonymize box exports the 3D image volume without any patient information. NOTE: The same result can be obtained from resetting the i mage before exporting itPLANMECA Romexis Viewer User Guide
