The SRIJ is part of the parisian Directorate of

Judicial Police in Préfecture de Police

Yes, because our training

is really serious, with rules, We knew that a terrorist attack may occur in our city.

No, because such events never happen as expected.

We experimented terrorist attacks in 1985, and in

1995, and our training was mainly based after the

experience of these attacks to one certainty : bombs in streets. Unfortunately ( ?!), we had to suffer very different attacks : special targets, closed places, and use of automatic personal war weapons. So, if we knew what a crime scene was, nobody knew how to react in such huge circumstances. Therefore, we decided to work in a " normal » way, as we usually have to do it.In case of a terrorist attack, the target is to go to the service, and stay waiting order. Being sure that persons, a photographer, and a CSI. Teams went to "

investigators (Brigade Criminelle). Both worked together, under the direction of two Coordinators, one from the Forensics team, the are very important, beeing the check- and contact points for everybody on the crime scene, and with authorities too. All informations must pass through them, in/out, and out/in. This has worked very well.
