On 8th November 2013 super-typhoon Haiyan hit the

Philippine provinces of Leyte and Samar. The scale of the disaster and the enormous logistical difficulties in accessing the hardest hit areas were a big challenge for our organization. within hours, our teams in the Philippines and Spain were set in motion to alleviate the suffering of those affected. Our intervention, crucial for 200,000 people, has positioned us as one of the benchmark humanitarian actors in this type of crisis. Elsewhere in the world, we have been able to help, in a single year, over 9 million men, women and children. Of these, over three million have been beneficiaries of projects coordinated from ACF-Spain. The focus on community management of malnutrition, one of the great pillars of our strategy, has allowed us to exponentially increase the number of children cured of malnutrition, while keeping the projects' costs down. This working methodology, together with the integrated approach for fighting against malnutrition (combining nutrition interventions with water, sanitation and hygiene, livelihood and disaster prevention projects) is enabling significant advances in our roadmap to

eradicating child malnutrition. The Social Action work in Spain has also produced significant results this year: we have been able to implement social and work inclusion projects for people at risk of exclusion. Despite being an emerging area of work, in only one year 85 people have launched ventures after receiving advice from employment advisers trained by Action Against Hunger. It's just the beginning: soon we will begin working directly with beneficiaries through employment launches.

All these achievements have been possible thanks to the trust of the citizens, businesses and institutions that support us. we want to be accountable to all of you in this annual report explaining how we have used the resources provided. There is no greater satisfaction for our organization than to be able to show, with full transparency, what your help has been transformed into and how it has improved the lives of millions of people.
