BCMS students can take a second major from the Arts listed major as well as the business major (Business Law and Taxation, Econometrics and
Business Statistics, Management and Strategic Marketing).Elective units may also be taken from non-arts disciplines to broaden your knowledge or to complete a major or minor(s) from another course as
long as you have the prerequisites and there are no restrictions on enrolment in the units.Other course requirements:
9 A maximum of 10 units (60 points) from first year level
9 At least minimum 6 units (36 points) from third year level (four out of six units must be from Arts units (AMU)
9 General Studies: Effective from October 2013 intake onwards, all Malaysian and International students are required to complete all U1, U2, U3 and

9 The course comprises 144 points, of which 96 points are specified for communication and media studies and 48 points are free electives.
9 Elective units may be at any level, however, no more than ten units (60 points) can be credited to the communication and media studies course at
level 1 and a minimum of 36 points must be completed at level 3, of which four must be specified in communication and media studies.
9 The student must complete the specified complementary units appropriate for the specialisation.
9 *Intending Honours Students: Students must have completed a major in the discipline, with a minimum of 24 points of study at level 3 to be
eligible.9 IMPORTANT: A unit may count only towards one area of study, for the purpose of meeting course requirements (except as described in
the Handbook entry for the course). This is the case even when the unit is listed against two or more areas of study (e.g AMU1277).
