3FRENCH IN ACTION
INTRODUCTION
French in Action course was made with support of american and french entities. It consists of 52 integrated
units, making a history like a soup opera with all characteristics like a heroine, a comic hero, an excentric
and a misterious person; There are love disputes and rivalries. What you are going to learn reflects today´s French life: the people, the
way of life, habits, foods, fashion, cities and houses. Some points are important and must be reinforced in order to help you in this adventure through country,
idiom and French culture.1-During the classes try to learn the general meaning of conversation or situation: watch the story, people
expressions, get the conversation in essence and feel the context. Once the basics are understood, the
meanings of phrases become clear. Do not try to memorize what you are listen. First of all, be used to
listening.2-Prioritize the listening. During the course, you are going to listen to the episodes because of the
importance of being used to the sound of language with no confusing about how it is written.3-The translation is omitted. French is not English with other words. Use dictionary as last help. In this
course you are going to find phrases in different ways so that you can find the meaning. Words without
context don´t have useful meaning.4-Learning a language demands practice. French in Action demands your participation. In order to learn
French you need to pay attention, observe carefully and also speak. Listen to the sound of your own voice,
imitate what you´ve listened and seen. In the interaction session you will have enough time to answer
questions as you were an story character. Answer clearly with normal voice. At the beginning, don´t invent.
Imitate, use same phrases until you are familiar with them. After some time you will be able to combine
phrases in order to creating new phases in new situations. All of these in mind, you are ready to start.
Good lucky.
4LEÇON 1 & 2
In this serie you are going to see typical situations of French life, flashes of TV programs, movies,
advertisements, etc., with the main objective of teaching French language, using authentic situations of
French reality.
The chapters show a story involving an american young man that run into a young woman, Mirelle, and together play situations with friends and family members, all of them French. You are going to see each chapter, listen to the dialogs and repeat aloud what you hear. The theacher then
ask you questions as you were one of the characters.Don´t be worried if you don´t understand all that you listen to. It is normal to understand just a little and to
speak even lesser. Your capacity of understanding and speak french is going to increase gradually. Remenber the rules:OBSERVE, LISTEN, SPEAK (aloud) and PRACTICE
