-iii- INTRODUCTION The 1987 Nevada Legislature created, effective July 1, 1987, the Commission on Professional Standards in Education. This nine-member commission, with representatives from public school teachers, the University of Nevada Colleges of Education, counselors, private schools, school administration and the general public, has as its primary purpose the establishment of regulations prescribing the qualifications for licensing teachers and other educational personnel. The 2003-2004 edition of Nevada's DIRECTORY OF LICENSED PERSONNEL is published in accordance with NRS 391.045 and contains the names of teachers and other educational personnel who hold valid Nevada elementary, secondary or special education licenses and are employed by local school districts. Personnel are listed by school district and by school. The three-digit numbers to the right of each name are codes that indicate teaching assignments. A decoding guide can be found on pages 13-16 of this directory. In addition to valid licensed staff, this directory contains names and addresses of the Commission on Professional Standards in Education, the State Board of Education, professional staff of the Nevada Department of Education, identified advisory councils, professional organizations and institutions. If you require further information or help with this Directory you may contact Robin Loder at 775-687-9227 or by email at rloder@doe.nv.gov.
