L 'amoxicilline, à la dose de 80-90 mg/kg/} en 2 à 3 prises quotidiennes, est à privilégier en

première intention. En effet, elle est la molécule orale la plus active sur les pneumocoques de sensibilité diminuée à la pénicilline et est active sur plus de 80% des H. influenzae. Si le temps entre les 3 prises quotidiennes ne peut être équidistant (environ 8 h), il est préférable d'administrer le produit en 2 prises.

La durée de l'antibiothérapie est :

-de 8 à 10 jours chez l'enfant de moins de 2 ans (.Grade A), -de 5 jours après 2 ans (.Accord professionnel).
