1.Introduction
Damar Industries operates a large multi-hazard manufacturing site at Eastgate Business Park Rotorua. Stored on site can be up to:¾65 tonnes of LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas)
¾370,000 litres of bulk flammable liquids
¾1.4 million litres water capacity of aerosols, and ¾2.2 million litres of flammable liquid finished goods in five warehouses. There could also be small volumes of hazard class 5.1 (Oxidizer) and larger volumes of hazard class 6.1 (toxic), 8 (Corrosive) and 9 (Ecotoxic) These substances are used to manufacture a variety of paints, aerosols, cleaning products and liquid fill products for storage and distribution throughout New Zealand and overseas export markets The volumes in use and stored on site, create Hazardous Atmosphere Zones and Controlled Zones in all production and storage areas.2.Legislative requirements
In regards to the above, Damar Industries Ltd is obliged by Health and Safety, MHF and HSNO legislation to
ensure that all persons (workers, contractors and visitors) are informed of the hazards that could be
encountered when entering the plant, and the controls necessary to manage these risks 4Visitor Induction
3.Visitor Registration
All visitors must report to Reception in the Administration Block when arriving and departing DamarIndustries Ltd site
All visitors must:
¾Sign onto the Visitor Register
¾Read the Ministry of Primary Industries Transitional Facility notice pertaining to sea freight containers
posted in the sign in register, and acknowledge acceptance by ticking the indicated column of the Sign

You must sign in and out every time, eǀen if you're temporarily leaǀing site as this register becomes our fire
roll for other persons on our site in the event of an emergency All visitors are required to wear an identification tagWhile on site, visitors are required to be accompanied by a Damar Industries Ltd staff member and may not
undertake any work or operate any equipmentIf you suffer from respiratory problems please make this clear to your host; they will ensure you are not
exposed to any material that may affect you during the course of your visit4.Prohibited Items in Operational Areas
In addition, all visitors entering operational areas must ensure long hair is tied back and any hoods are down.
5.Facilities

¾In the Administration Block on the left hand side half way down the main corridor¾In the Main Building just inside the entrance door to the left, and in the corridor between the Liquid
Fill and Factory areas

¾There is a kitchenette located just before the toilets in the administration building ¾The main staff lunch room is inside the entrance door to the right in the main buildingNoMobile Phones

6.Evacuation Procedure
If the alarm sounds (siren), your Damar guide will assist you to the nearest exit and accompany you to the
Emergency Assembly area at our evacuation point
Evacuation point is across the road in the Damar Staff/Visitor car parkDo not drive your vehicle offsite
Once at the Emergency Assembly Area, report to the Administration Warden and ensure your name is checked offDo not leave the assembly area
Do not smoke at the assembly area
Do not re-enter the site or building until cleared to do so by the Head WardenNOTE: All Security Gates will automatically open
