Parts of the Sentence

A sentence has a subject and a verb.

It can have only a subject and a verb,

but usually sentences have other words, too.

Subjects come before the verb. They often

come at the beginning of a sentence.

Subjects can be one word, or many words.

The first letter of the first word of a

sentence is a capital letter.

A sentence ends with a full stop, question

mark or exclamation mark.

He sometimes cooks special cakes for us.

Everybody likes eating his cakes.
