Introduction

COVID-19 Pandemic has proved to be the defining

public health emergency of our times. It posed serious challenges for Public Health System. India's efforts to manage the pandemic can be best described as a people-centric, whole of Government, whole of society approach built on past experiences of managing public health emergencies as well as contemporary scientific knowledge. India's approach has been directed at containing the spread of infection, while strengthening requisite core capacities to minimize the health and non- health impact of the pandemic especially on the most vulnerable sections of society. India's leadership undertook many proactive and decisive steps very early in response to the pandemic, some of the key interventions included actions at points of entry, nationwide lockdown, focus on test, track, isolate &treat etc. These interventions not only slowed down the spread of COVID-19 in the country but also gave enough time for the country to build public health capacities to effectively manage the pandemic.

The Govt. of India took proactive and pre-emptive

Govt. of India followed 'Test, Track and Treat' strategy diligently and continued the emphasis on preventive measures to contain the spread of the virus which includes wearingquotesdbs_dbs31.pdfusesText_37
