Teacher"s Background Information

Part 1

The goal of Part 1 is for the students to learn

first hand through interviews what people's perceptions of air quality were when they were growing up and how (or if) those perceptions have changed today. By interviewing others, students will get a better idea of what the air quality was like in the past and how it has changed for the better or worse.

Prior to having students conduct

interviews, you may want to ask the students some questions regarding air pollution sources and solutions so they have a better idea of how the questions relate to air quality. Go through the interview questions together before sending the students out to conduct their interview.
