At the back of the book there is a m enu guide, listing about 500 food terms, and a 2,000- w ord two-way dictionary. Numbers and the most useful p hrases are listed on the jacket "aps for quick reference. N ouns A ll French nouns (words for things, people, and ideas) are m asculine or feminine. The gender of singular nouns is u sually shown by the word for theŽ: le (masculine) and la feminine). These change to l" before a vowel. The plural f orm is les. You can look up the gender of words in the F rench...English dictionary at the back of the book. A djectives M ost French adjectives change endings according to w hether they describe a masculine or feminine, singular or p lural word.
