How to memorize Japanese grammar?
Use the grammar structure often through writing
The more you say it, even if you just speak to yourself, the more it will become cemented in your memory. The more you write in Japanese, the more you can engrain new grammar structures into your long-term memory. Is Japanese grammar difficult?
Japanese grammar, as a whole, is one of the most difficult things for English speakers to get their heads around. In Japanese, the verb goes at the end of the sentence, something that feels instinctually wrong for English speakers. English uses a Subject-Verb-Object word order. What are basic grammar rules for Japanese?
Here are 10 basic Japanese grammar rules to remember.
Tip #1: Japanese Has No Plural. Tip #2: Japanese Sentence Structure: Verbs Come At The End. Tip #3: You Don't Say “You” In Japanese. Tip #4: Japanese Particles Help You Show The Function Of A Word. Tip #5: It's Easy To Be Polite In Japanese.- Learn to Read Hiragana
The other two are katakana and kanji, but hiragana is where everything starts. The ability to read hiragana is going to be a prerequisite for most beginner Japanese textbooks and resources. It's the first thing you learn in a traditional classroom. Surprisingly, I agree with everyone else.

This is a dictionary of basicJapanese
grammar designed primarily for first and second yearJapanese
students and for teachers ofJapanese.
After having examined major textbooks being used in Japan and theUnited
States
we have chosen what we believe to be basic grammatical items. Our descriptions and explanations have incorporated the recent findings inJapanese
linguistics which we felt were of practical significance. We have spent three years and a half preparing this dictionary. Each of us initially prepared half of the original draft: approximately 200entries. Upon completion of the first draft of the dictionary (i.e.,
Entries,
Appendixes,
Char¬
acteristics ofJapanese
Grammar,
andGrammatical
Terms),
we closely examined, discussed and improved our individual drafts. Therefore,
every part of this dictionary has virtually been written by both of us.Naturally
we owe a great deal to our predecessors whose works are listed in the references. Our heart-felt thanks go to them, although we could not ac¬ knowledge them individually in each entry where we used their insightful ex¬ planations. We would also like to acknowledge many profitable discussions with our colleagues at theUniversity
ofIllinois,
Urbana-Champaign
and at theSummer
Japanese
School
ofMiddlebury
College,
Middlebury,
Vermont.
For fear of omission, we would rather not attempt a comprehensive listing of names. Even so we would like to mention four individuals whose technical assistance has made it possible to publish this dictionary:First,
Mr. BurrNelson
of theUniversity
ofIllinois
and Mrs.Sharon
Tsutsui,
who have edited ourEnglish
and provided us with valuable comments and suggestions from the user's view¬ point; also, Mr.Mamoru
Yoshizawa,
who has patiently and conscientiously as¬ sisted with the proofreading; and, last but not least Mr.Masayuki
Ishida
of The JapanTimes,
who has done such conscientious editing: he has been a perfect midwife for the birth of our progeny and our special thanks go to him.Spring
