TERM CLASSES

Students take summer term classes for many

reasons. The most common motivation is to clear the yearlong schedule for added classes in math, science, theatre, and the arts. Many students also use this avenue to open their upperclassman schedules to take advantage of college classes o?ered at Mercyhurst University.

Class size is limited, and the atmosphere

is casual. Students enrolling in these classes should register by June 5. Courses are scheduled at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. NOTE:

Schedules are set to accommodate the greatest

number of students. Times are subject to change based on enrollment.

REMEDIATION/CREDIT RECOVERY CLASSES

MPS o?ers a range of summer remediation

for students experiencing academic di?culty.

Please contact your student's guidance

counselor for more information.

Students will have the opportunity to work

through a fourth term (40 hours) of review and graded practice to identify and correct skill de?cits. Students may enroll in remediation/ credit recovery courses on the recommendation of their teachers and counselors or upon parent request.

This course is designed to help students access

techniques that will improve comprehension and application across the curriculum. The iPads for incoming students will be distributed, and an iPad skills session will occur during class time. The iPad is only one of many tools our students will use in this study skills class.

The 6th annual Lakers Football Camp is a four-day

non-contact camp with instruction in all phases of football. O?ensive and defensive instruction will include technique play for interior linemen, linebackers, o?ensive backs & receivers including

QBs and defensive backs. A specialty unit with

a focus on the kicking game will also be highlighted. The emphasis of the camp is to learn technique, make new friends, and have fun!

Come learn about running from Coach Stolar

and current MPS Cross Country and Track teams.

This four-day camp promises to be extremely

fun as well as highly instructional. Learn about the basics such as stretching, proper footwear, and running form using advanced technology in the

MPS Dream Lab. Also, you will dive deeper into

racing strategy, pre-race preparation, nutrition, and team building. You can come as an individual or invite your team to attend. MPS is host to the area's only international

rowing team, which began in the 80s. With our experienced, winning coaches, you'll be learning skills that will develop and improve your technique.

The atmosphere is relaxed enough to be fun while

also providing an informative introduction to the sport of rowing on Presque Isle Bay in our top-of- the-line racing shells. Head Coach David Geiger has been on the sta? of the rowing team since 1997.

During his time as head coach, the team has won

numerous awards on the national and international level. Many of his rowers have been awarded scholarships at some of the top colleges in the country. Join Coach Geiger and his experienced coaching sta?, many of whom are dedicated

Master fundamentals in this highly individualized

camp, while concentrating on skill development and game application. Coach Perfetto has completed his 14th year of coaching the MPS girls team, which includes over 250 career wins and nine Region Championships. He is a two-time State Class

AAA runner up, won two D-10 championships, and

was named the 2011 PIAA State AAA Coach of the

Year. We'll see you on the hardwoods in June.

VISUAL ARTS CAMP

Give your kids the invaluable and innate gift

of creativity this summer through the visual arts at Mercyhurst Prep. This week-long camp is designed to help young minds break free of inhibitions and unleash creativity through a variety of classes that ignite spontaneity and imagination. These classes include painting, photography, illustration, and ceramics. Students will be grouped by age and will leave the week with a camp shirt they get to silkscreen themselves! LEGO® components to build the set and props,

then shoot their movie using a camera. Teams will use movie-making software to add special e?ects, titles, credits, and more.? When the movie is complete, campers will impress friends and family with a screening party on the last day of camp.

Build a foundation in 3D Printing by designing
