(1) Some Finnish institutions may use the Swedish scale2) 6=Excellent -obtained for outstanding achievements during exam ; Zal. = workload is satisfactory, classes do not end in an exam
The Middlesex grade given for a grade which is broad band (eg:ECTS grade:Good) will normally be the midpoint of the MU grades covered by the broad band. Thus, ECTS: Vgood will normally
convert to MU6. Where evidence or previous experience indicates, the higher grade of the band may be used, but in all cases the grade must be within the corresponding band.
Middlesex University reserves the right to interpret local grades inan appropriate manner according to the above conversion scale and to the level and criteria of the University's Programmes.
Grades from tAustralia ,Hong Kong, Israel, USA and South Korea are converted according to the appropriate conversion scale. Pass grades from other countries will normally be converted to a
Middlesex 'Y' (neutral) unless fail, then Middlesex grades of 17, 18 or 19 will be used as appropriate.
Grade conversion for new partner countries
These scales are provisional, and should be used as a basis for discussion in the first year of operation and reviewed after
that year in the light of experience.
