Position in Macroeconomics

The Chair of Macroeconomics: Innovation and Policy has a job opening for a PhD position in theoretical macroeconomics. The PhD position focuses on basic research, innovation and economic growth or on monetary economics. The research at the chair centers on empirically motivated theoretical and conceptual economic questions and provides useful policy guidelines. The chair is part of the Center of Economic Research, which belongs to the Department of Management, Technology and Economics (D-MTEC) at ETH Zurich. Further information about the chair's work is provided on our website. The salary will be following the regulations of ETH Zurich.

The starting date is flexible.

The successful applicant should hold a master's degree in economics, mathematics, physics, or related areas and have graduated with grades in the top five percent of his/her class (e.g. applicants from Swiss universities are expected to have achieved a GPA of at least 5.25). The appointment is a 100% doctoral assistant position and requires the accomplishment of the Economics Doctoral Programme at D-MTEC. The dissertation is completed within three to four years under the supervision of Professor Hans Gersbach and senior members of the chair.
