The Grundfos Solution

In order to meet the customer's specific demands

Grundfos developed a new layout for the installation and customised four fire fighting systems with NK and CR pumps that fit perfectly in the confined space.

In order to assure the specified water supply

requirements Grundfos chose to install a Hydro 2000 pump system with a total capacity of 150 m3/h. The booster ensures a constant pressure and reduces operation and maintenance costs to a minimum. For the irrigation project Grundfos installed a Hydro

1000 booster system with CR pumps. With a total

motor power of 230 kW the installation guarantees sufficient water for irrigation and fountains. For the wastewater disposal, Grundfos installed five lifting stations with control panels and protections. The lifting stations pump the wastewater to large-scale stations, where two submersible heavy-duty pumps transport the wastewater to the municipal sewage system.

The Outcome

Grundfos won the project based on the innovative

solution presented by Grundfos Portugal, and to a certain extent the positive reputation as a reliable and responsible supplier of high-quality pump solutions. As a full-line supplier, Grundfos was also able to comply withFreeport's demand for single source responsibility, i.e. one supplier for all pumping systems.
