NLCS (Singapore) is looking for an enthusiastic, highly qualified and committed ICT Network Engineer with Apple Experience, equipped with an outstanding track record. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of a new school, drawing on the significant educational expertise and resources of NLCS International. The ICT Network Engineer is responsible for providing Apple technical expertise and developing network and communication strategies and assessing the need for new technologies in the firm to ensure excellent end user experience. The successful candidate will have an international outlook and an appreciation for the impact the support staff can have in the School and on the staff at the School. This person will be quick to learn about the organization and begin to interact with various key stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

Apple Device Management

Provide subject matter expertise for any and all issues that may affect Mac devices eg iPad,

MacBook, iMac, Apple TV, etc

Provide subject matter expertise on issues and tasks related to the remote distribution of packages. Providing Mac support to the users within the school. Taking ownership for supporting all users with technical related issues covering 1st and 2nd Level Line support. To evaluate and apply any necessary operating system security patches, hotfixes, service packs and hardware updates. Mobile Device Management (Jamf Pro) and Apple School Manager Configures, tests and provides service support of mobile device solutions including laptops and tablets. Ensures that all mobile devices and activations are in compliance with the school IT policies and procedures in the Jamf Pro environment. Supports the school in the planning and deployment for mobile devices.

Network administration

Responsible for ensuring the school ICT network functions efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of the school and its users. Maintain a network topology map for all active equipment and proactively monitor network equipment for fault or other service affecting conditions. Maintain detailed network inventories identifying equipment, location, purpose and maintenance schedules.

System administration

Perform regular systems maintenance functions with respect to Operating system and application patches, hot fixes, software updates and new releases. Implement proactive security measures where appropriate eg antivirus software to protect against malicious code. Implement operating systems, service and application logging to record connection attempts, authentication results, network interface statistics and unusual events. Review system logs regularly. Monitor systems operating parameters for unusual events, processes, access problems and dis anomalies.

Disable or delete expired or dormant accounts.

Perform regular system backups.

Report all security incidents to ICT Manager.

Technical Support

Provide systems and applications support to the entire organization. To assist in the smooth operation of the organization's IT processes and provide user support when required. Provide training, hardware/software, administration duties and support. Conducts preventive work on computers, services and firewalls. Configuration, manage and maintain hardware and software including all peripherals, implement back up processes and assess systems for upgrades or replacement. Manage the network and server architecture to ensure efficient network traffic at all times. Prepare and distribute regular performance and status reports as required.

Project Management Support

Determines project specifications, studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates. Manage and report the current status of project schedules, scopes, and budget/cost in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure timely, effective and high quality review of ICT project. Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

Other Duties

Providing support for school functions and events, on a rota basis. Providing cover and assistance for other parts of the school as required. Any ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by the management.

Qualifications/Skills

Minimum Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Diploma (in a Computing discipline) or equivalent in experience. Experience in Apple device management is essential

Strong knowledge experience in Apple Macintosh platform eg iOS, MacOS Strong knowledge experience in Jamf Pro MDM platform Strong knowledge experience in Apple School Manager

Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

Strong technical competence.

Excellent communication and collaborative skills at all levels Experience focused on improving processes and initiatives in an end user environment would be beneficial Ability to deal with confidential information with sensitivity and discretion Preferably with previous experience in an international school setting
