Welcome to the
2020 Channel 7
Port to Pub swim
with Hotel Rottnest
It"s great to have you in our event whether it
be as a swimmer, paddler, skipper, supporter or volunteer.
Each one of you make it the swim, the experience,
and the community that it has become. The Port to Pub is a swim for all" - it"s for every kind of swimmer. From elite swimmer to adult beginner, to someone who loves using swimming to keep t, or a young budding swimmer giving it a go, to someone who has been around the swimming traps for years who has seen open water swimming grow and ourish.
Thank-you for your supporting us, and especially
each other out on the water on the day. The comradery, friendship, sportsmanship, care and support seen on the day are the best parts of the human spirit, which is why the nish line on the shore of Hotel Rottnest is a very special place to be. Here, you will witness courage, heartache, pure exhilaration, love and so many raw emotions, that will leave you feeling inspired, and so proud. This is a special year for us as it is our event"s fth year. We believe it has become an iconic, reputable, safe, high quality event, recognised locally, nationally and internationally.
We have gained experience and learnings each
year on ways to make this event stand out, to be safer, more enjoyable, challenging and memorable.
We have grown from 600 swimmers in 2016, to
over 1500 this year. Many sponsors, volunteers and swimmers have been part of Port to Pub since the start, and we hope you feel a sense of pride. Thank you for your ongoing support.L-R Chris Letts (Race Director), Jane Munday,
Ceinwen Roberts (President) and Andrew Roberts.
This year we have swimmers coming from
Argentina, America, New Zealand, Hong Kong,
Japan, Singapore and the UK - and of course
across Australia - to take part in our event, and we welcome you all to Perth and are so proud to show you our beautiful Rottnest Island and how amazing the people of Perth are. To our sponsors, we are truly honoured to have you behind us, you make it the world class event that it is. We are sincerely thankful to you for believing in this event, sharing your time, your knowledge and backing us with your sponsorship - many of you have been with us since the rst event in 2016.
In particular, we would like to thank our new
naming rights sponsor, Channel 7. With the support of Channel 7 we can grow the event and reach more swimmers than ever before. Channel 7 is entrenched in the WA community and you"ll be very aware of its presence on race day, making the event more exciting than ever. We"d like to thank our many friends who share their valuable time, positive energy and demeanour to provide the event and swimmers with the friendly, supportive community feel Port to Pub is known for. We wish you all the best in the lead up to the event, and on race day don"t forget to bring your A-game, sense of adventure and some great sportsmanship!
