MPLOYEES AND COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
The Saginaw County Health Department (SCHD) wants to recognize award recipients for 2018. The awards presented by SCHD include the Employee of the Year, the Richard Calley
Distinguished Service Award, Spirit of Public Health Award, and Longevity Award. The 2019 Employee of the Year has been awarded to Margaret Drayton for exemplary performance and accomplishment on the job. Margaret has been with the Department for the past18 years as our Medical Technologist in the Laboratory
Margaret is described by her co-workers as
meticulous, reliable, hardworking, and someone who takes pride in providing accurate and timely laboratory results.SCDPH annually awards the
Richard Calley Distinguished Service Award in recognition of an individual, organization, or business that has made a significant contribution to the advancement of public health in Saginaw County. This year's honoree isDonald Everett, owner of Everett
Excavating and Landscaping. Don has been working on the advancement of public health dating back to the 1970s as a licensed Septic System Installer for Saginaw County. Don's subject matter expertise in septic systems not only makes him an excellent partner in environmental health's sewage program, but he has provided mentorship and training for numerous environmental health specialists for many years. The 2019 Spirit of Public Health Award recipients are Jenna Bootz, Spencer Denman, Alixandria Flores-Honeman, Cynthia Mahan, and Christina Vasquez. This award is given to those SCHD employees who embody the spirit of public service and go the extra mile in the performance of job duties and customer service. SCHD also annually recognizes staff employment milestones for years of dedicated service to the Department. This year's 2019 Longevity Certificates were presented to: Leanne Brown, Public
Health Nurse
; Hilary Grundas, Public Health Nurse; Denver Isom, Laboratory Assistant; Linda Owen, Accountant I; and Rebekah Willard, Public Health Nurse; for 5 years of service. Longevity Awards were presented to: Christina Harrington, Health Officer, for 15 years of service; Jamice Burns- Landrum, Environmental Health Specialist, and Tawnya Simon, Personal & Preventive HealthServices Direct
