4 Funding and grants

3H p rovides holiday grants for people with physical and learning disabilities.

Grants are for family holidays and ONLY cover the

accomodation cost - the funds go directly to the venue. Applications are considered if the household combined income is less than £30k.

Grants are awarded to family carers to have a

holiday with or without the person they care for.

Application forms can be found online and must be

sent with evidence that your family member has a disability, you are in receipt of means tested bene?ts and you have a low household income. ACT Foundation provides grants of up to £2500 for a disabled person to visit a registered respite centre. Funding is for the person with a disability only, and not the family. It is only valid at respite centres and not for general holidays, and the applicant must have limited funds. A grant can be applied for at any time (Trustees meet four times a year but do give approvals between meeting dates). Application forms are found online and should be sent to the trust.

After Umbrage is a charity whose vision is to

provide free, short breaks for anyone who has been looking after family members or loved ones with a life limiting condition. We would also like to express our deepest condolences by o?ering breaks to carers within their ?rst 12 months of bereavement.

The pressure associated with caring can be over-

whelming. After Umbrage provides a chance for carers to take time out to relax and unwind in idyllic surroundings, so they can return to their caring duties rejuvenated.

Applications are via a downloadable form which

must be signed and stamped by your GP before submission. Carers can apply for grants of up to £300 for items or activities that will bene?t them in their caring role, including respite for them or their family.

Applicants must be aged 16+ and be an *unpaid

carer. An application must be submitted via a carers organisation that is a member of The Carers Trustquotesdbs_dbs3.pdfusesText_6
