CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

BALLET: Ballet Technique classes are the foundation for training and focus on developing a solid ballet technique with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turn out, coordination of the upper

body (epaulement), and use of arms (port de bras). Class begins with work at the barre to build strength and coordination, followed by center exercises, culminating in a grand allegro combination or variation. Clear

explanations of exercises and theory help students use the ballet vocabulary in a simple, practical way that leads to increased technical understanding, healthy physical development, and lifelong enjoyment. Students with

strong ballet technique, sufficient core and ankle strength, and a teacher's recommendation go on to study 'en pointe'.

-BEGINNER BALLET: A basic class that introduces the student to the elementary positions of classical ballet. Classes are slow and thorough to ensure proper alignment and understanding. This includes ͞Little Ones' Ballet".

-INTERMEDIATE BALLET: A class for students who are comfortable with ballet curriculum and can move easily through the barre and center.

-ADVANCED BALLET/POINTE: A more involved class than Intermediate for students with secure technique and the capacity to keep up in a fast-paced class. Dress Code: Pink tights, Black Leotard, Pink Ballet shoesͬPointe'

shoes for advanced students approved by instructors. Students may wear leg warmers, ballet skirts, and other warm up ballet clothes during the winter to keep muscles warm to prevent injury.

BARRE: Utilitizing the foundations of ballet barre exercises, you will sculpt, strengthen and sweat your way to a more stable posterior chain, obtain more flexibility and build a stronger core.

BOLLYWOOD: This Bollywood class is catered to beginners. Bollywood dance is a blend of Indian Classical and folk dance with elements of hip-hop, Latin, jazz, modern, and bellydance. Bhangra is a folk dance from Punjab

that has gained popularity for its invigorating music (the dhol drum) and energetic steps. This class will improve your dance technique and rhythm, enhance your overall fitness and most importantly, is a lot of fun!

Dress Code: Wear Comfortable Clothing, no jeans or street shoes, you may dance bare foot.

CONTEMPORARY/MODERN: This class appeals to the creative, artistic soul in everyone because of its expressiveness and freedom of individuality. It will introduce students to fundamental principles of

contraction/release, spiral, and shift of weight. The students focus on movement from the inside out, encouraging use of breath, energy, and connection. Class begins with traditional floorwork, progresses into standing

work, moves to travelling phrases across the floor, and culminates in movement phrases that explore dynamic possibilities. Students will use breath, opposition, and strength that will carry over into other disciplines. This

class will develop awareness of where the body naturally goes, how it naturally moves, with an exploration of musicality, movement style, dynamic shifts, space, time, spinal mobility, movement initiation, physicality, floor

work- identifying correct pathways from moving in and out of the floor with alignment to help injury prevention. This is a place in this class for every curious dancer who is interested in creativity for dance making and

dance understanding. Dress Code: Leggings (preferably black), shirt that is easy to move in, jazz shoes, contemporary shoes, or bare feet.

DANCE SOCIAL: So you've learned a few steps in your ballroom classes? Well, here is your chance to use them! Join us every Friday night for a "practice party" held in The Bistro at Snowcreek. Come out and practice your

new skills, socialize with friends-new and old-and DANCE the night away to great music. See you there!

DWTS MAMMOTH: Learn how to dance BIG in this class! You will be taught ballroom and Jazz elements, stage presence, performance tips and pretend "The lights are on you!" Dance to fun Broadway hits along with

HIP HOP: -BEGINNER: In this upbeat class learn freestyle Hip hop technique and choreography at a beginner level. If you are new to this style, or just looking to "freshen" up your dance moves, this class is for you! Feel

comfortable and confident as we dance along to today's hottest music. Open to all ages from teen to adult.

- INTERMEDIATE: Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style

and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore, class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous

warm-up to prepare students for more intense movements.

-WEST COAST: A high-energy class that takes Hip Hop to a new level. This class will introduce and intermediate style of hip hop that will teach dancers body awareness, popping, locking, intricate movements and how to

use your body to create cool visuals. This class uses lyrics and choreography to tell a story. It will help dancers broaden their technique that they will find helps improve their muscle control that is necessary in other

disciplines, such as contemporary and modern dance. -Dress Code: Comfortable clothing, no jeans, Dance sneakers, or CLEAN street shoes (no black soles please).

JAZZ: A dance form that appeals to everyone because of its energy, variety, and vitality. Jazz Dance classes explore contemporary and classic jazz dance that draws inspiration from a wide range of music including jazz,

swing, blues, pop, soul and funk, trip-hop. Jazz classes begin with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment and coordination, followed by progressions across the floor, and culminates in extended dance

combinations. The movement explores a range of styles in both lyrical and percussive disciplines with a focus on jazz elements such as isolations, swing, and rhythm. The goal is to develop dancers who are expressive,

dynamic, musical and passionate. Kids, Intermediate and Adult classes. Jazz Dress Code: Leggings (preferably black), shirt that is easy to move in, jazz shoes, contemporary shoes, or bare feet.

LATIN RHYTHMS: Known for its sensual hip action and sexy flair, Latin dance gained popularity on dance floors and gyms everywhere. Now Snowcreek gives you a chance to learn step by step Salsa, Merengue, Cha-Cha,

Batchada, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Samba and other Brazilian styles of dance through our Latin Rhythms Class. Spice up your life, get in shape, meet new people, learn popular choreographies, how to perform in public, and

show off your dance moves to your friends! No partner needed & All Ages are welcome!

-ADULT TAP: Adult/ Intermediate classes further develop skills, focusing on clarity of sounds and increasing speed as well as dynamics and musicality. Our advanced tap dancers are challenged through improvisational
